Different courier companies have different rural boundaries and customers need to check with each individual courier company for rural boundary. Each courier company has different coverage areas and rural place for one company may not be to the other company.
There is one option to know whether the place you need to courier come under rural delivery is to either phone or email to the courier company including the full address asking them whether the place comes under rural area.
If any account with the company is maintained by the customer, then the schedule of what areas are covered under rural areas are emailed to customer along with courier price charged by the company.
The amount varies depending on the courier company where small parcels are generally charged less and big ones are charged more.
It is important to place the sticker indicating that courier is for a rural area and if the sticker is not maintained, then the charges are applied back to the sender or the parcel will be retained till the rural area charges are paid. In some cases both the rural area charges and also the redelivery charges are applied on the customer if the sticker indicating rural area is not metioned.
